Golden guest to cut skate park ribbon

Logan Martin opening new Logan Village Green Skate Park

Olympic gold medallist Logan Martin will inspire the next generation of local talent when he cuts the ribbon to officially open the new Logan Village Green Skate Park on Saturday, November 26.

The former Crestmead rider, who won the inaugural BMX freestyle gold at the Tokyo Olympics, will be among the special guests at the opening of the new facility.

He will join skateboarding legend Donny Fraser to oversee a series of rider and skater demonstrations on the program.

The new skate park has been four years in the making and is a key outcome of the Logan Village Forum in 2018.

Lighting, a key priority request by skaters, has been installed to allow the facility to be used into the evening.

The park also features a three-metre ‘vert wall’, two bowls, stairs, rails and spines to engage skaters and riders of all levels of experience.
