At YSS Senior Athletics Carnival
Earlier this year, Yarrabilba State School held its annual Senior Athletics Carnival. Students enjoyed two days of track and field events organised by HPE teachers, Miss Juett and Mrs Brown.
The four sports houses, Wyambyn, Muni, Mibunn and Wajin were capably led by their House Captains as they energised their teams with war cries and encouraged team spirit. Nail biting finals were common and a few records were broken.
By the end of the carnival, many shirts were adorned with ribbons, voices were hoarse form cheering, legs were tired and a very capable and committed team was chosen to represent Yarrabilba State School at the Beaudesert Track and Field Zone Trials.
Eleven students then qualified for the Pacific District Athletics Carnival. Congratulations to the Muni (Kangaroo) house for being the 2021 champions.
