Cr Laurie Koranski Appointed Deputy Mayor For City of Logan

“An Honour Bestowed Upon Few People” …

Councillor Laurie Koranski has been appointed Deputy Mayor of the City of Logan for the remainder of the 2020 – 2024 term.
A secret ballot was undertaken at the Ordinary Council Meeting due to the expiry of Cr Natalie Willcocks’s one-year term in line with Local Government Act 2009 requirements.
Cr Koranski said being Deputy Mayor was an honour bestowed upon few people.
“Our city is moving forward, and we’re privileged to be leaders of not just a good city but a great city,” Cr Koranski said. “By working together over the past three years, we’ve seen Logan prosper through the COVID-19 pandemic and flooding, and we’ll continue to do so.
“We have a steady, reliable and focused Councillor team.”
Mayor Darren Power congratulated Cr Koranski on her appointment and thanked Cr Willcocks for her time in the role over the past year.
The appointment is effective immediately. Cr Koranski has resigned from the City Lifestyle Committee Chairperson role, which will be filled at the May Committee round.
