‘Grand’ Guru’s Grand Opening!

New Indian Restaurant Opens In Yarrabilba …

In December last year, Uma Gaur, owner of the new Guru Indian Restaurant in Yarrabilba invited us to attend the Grand Opening – a great honour indeed! We were able to sample some of the traditional handmade tastes of India while enjoying a very welcoming family atmosphere with Uma’s family and friends.

Uma spent 21 years working as a chef around the world in India, USA, UK, and Canada (where he opened his first restaurant) before coming to Australia. Meeting his wife Preet (through his sister) in Canada, the couple first arrived in Melbourne with their son Arnav, where Preet gave birth to their daughter Anika. After a couple of months they found it too busy with traffic and moved to Brisbane where Uma first opened a Noodle Bar in Wynnum before seeing a need for an outlet for fresh Indian food made every day in Yarrabilba. The restaurant is fully licensed and open Wednesday to Monday from 5.00pm to 8.30 pm. Guru Yum!
