YSSC Remembrance Day 2021

College Acknowledges And Honours Services

On Thursday 11th of November, 2021, Yarrabilba State Secondary College commemorated Remembrance Day. YSSC held a parade led by student leaders so the College community could pause and reflect on the services and sacrifices of those who have fought and served for our country. Staff and students wore red poppies, a tradition inspired by the fields of poppies which grew on many WWI battlefields. Purple poppies were also worn as a memorial tribute to the service and sacrifice of animals in war times.

Wreaths were laid under the school flags to honour and acknowledge the sacrifices made by those who have served and serve in our armed forces. At 11.00am, the College observed a minute’s silence. We will remember them.
