Bluey and Bingo join the festive fun at City of Logan carols

Bluey and her sister Bingo will join Santa as special guests at the City of Logan Christmas Carols in Meadowbrook on Saturday, December 11.

Santa will share the spotlight with two very special guests at the City of Logan Christmas Carols on Saturday, December 11.

Popular TV character Bluey and her little sister Bingo – from mega-hit Australian children’s series, Bluey – will feature in the festive line-up on stage.

In the Live Interactive Experience, the costume characters will lead youngsters in rounds of their favourite games, including Classic Catches, Veranda Santa and Keepy Uppy.

The carols event begins at 3pm at Griffith University’s Logan campus, on University Drive, Meadowbrook.

Mayor Darren Power said the annual City of Logan Christmas Carols are always a highly anticipated event.

“It is a fantastic opportunity for residents to have fun, relax and celebrate the start of the festive season,” Councillor Power said.

“After another busy year, I encourage everyone to come along and enjoy a wonderful evening together.”

City Lifestyle Chair Cr Laurie Koranski said there would be something for everyone at the family-friendly event.

“While the children will be spellbound by Bluey, others will be able to enjoy market stalls, Christmas putt-putt and free photos with Santa,” Cr Koranski said.

“I can’t wait to see smiles on faces of all ages.”

Division 6 Cr Tony Hall said a range of musical performances would get people joining in on popular carols as well as getting up and dancing.

Entertainment includes performances by teenage singer songwriter Leah Lever, swing and jazz crooner Craig Martin and local community choirs.

“The community will be able to sing along to some of their favourite Christmas carols,” Cr Hall said.

“So warm up those vocal cords, call up your family and friends and head on down to Meadowbrook for great night out.”

Food and drink will be available on the evening from a variety of food trucks.

The City of Logan Christmas Carols is a free family event, sponsored by Nine Queensland and Griffith University.

Attendees are encouraged to bring a picnic blanket.
