Yarrabilba Ambulance Station Officially Open
Lights and sirens on at two new Logan Ambulance Stations! Logan residents seeking emergency pre-hospital care are set to benefit as the lights have been switched on at two brand-new ambulance stations destined to service the growing local population.
Deputy Premier and Minister for Health and Minister for Ambulance Services Steven Miles and Member for Logan Linus Power today officially opened the Yarrabilba and Munruben Ambulance Stations.
Mr Power said the Palaszczuk Government had invested 8.3 million in both stations. “The Palaszczuk Government has delivered not one but TWO new stations in the Logan region,” Mr Power said.
“We know more and more families are making the Logan region home and we’re committed to delivering the best care when people find themselves in need of an ambulance.
“Due to the growing communities at Yarrabilba and Munruben there has been an increased need for services, so the entire southern Logan, Logan Village and Yarrabilba regions will benefit from the paramedic response from these new stations.
“The community can feel at ease knowing their new local stations are well placed to respond to any emergency. Around 27 jobs were created during construction of the two facilities which became operational on 14 September 2020.”
Deputy Premier Miles said 2020 has proven just how vital our paramedics are. “Our paramedics proudly put on their uniform day in, day out for the community and I look forward to seeing them operating out of new modern stations,” Mr Miles said.
“Along with our record investment in QAS and additional ambulance staff, these new stations are proof of the Palaszczuk Government’s commitment to keeping Queenslanders healthy, no matter where they live.
“I’d also like to thank local Indigenous artists Masud Sanders and Jared Coolwell who’ve created artworks for the stations.”
QAS Commissioner Russell Bowles said the new stations would support coverage in the Metro South Local Ambulance Service Network and contribute to improving response times
across the region.
“Officers at our existing stations at Beenleigh, Logan West and Jimboomba do a fantastic job servicing the local community and that high standard of care will continue now these two new stations are active,” Commissioner Bowles said.
“Both Yarrabilba and Munruben are 24-hour stations initially supporting a staff of 18 each and have been designed and built using the latest techniques.
