Masks Everywhere At Logan Village Market

Roving Reporter Graham Takes A Trip To The Markets

When I first arrived at the Logan Village Regional Markets for August, MASKS seemed to be the flavor of the month, with Leoni, Chiara, Chantal and Lillian all wearing home-made masks.
Colorful Masks were also on sale at the Craft Cottage.

Perhaps masks may become the next fashion accessory and there were plenty of choices available in design and pattern, and all on display at the Craft Cottage. The Community-minded Logan Village Craft Cottage has made and distributed 740 masks (so far) to Hospitals, Nursing Homes, even a Vet clinic, and university. Vice President Margaret said on Sunday. They do ensure visitors sanitise and sign in.

Chyerl Pridham (President of Logan Regional Chamber of Commerce) said it may be their last Market depending on the evolving situation. She said “we will do the right thing” and although markets were not required to close, they will do it in the interests of the community if necessary. Visitors were down this month and even some stallholders had to pull out because they were called in to work at Logan Hospital. Social distancing was certainly the order of the day even though the event is outside in fresh air.

Still it was a Vibrant and colourful scene on a glorious winter day and there were bargains to be had in produce, crafts and flowers. The patrons were certainly enjoying the warm Queensland weather and snapping up bargains in a happy friendly atmosphere.
