Mayor Darren Power & The Team Sworn In
The hard work starts now, the new team is in. This term is certainly not going to be about me, it’s going to be about my fellow 12 councillors, 9 of them who have never been in office before. Getting them up and about and educated on what is expected of them, will be my main focus and of course the pending budget. Logan council is having the same money problems as everyone else, with development one of our main contributors to our bottom line slowing very quickly. We have already provided a stimulus package pulling many sporting clubs from going under covering their water bills. Also providing an interest free term for those who advise us that they are struggling to pay their rates over this time. Looking to do more, but with revenue shortages the going will be tough. At least there is light at the end of the tunnel, the virus numbers have really been falling of late, and I congratulate both State and Federal governments for their commitments in keeping the good people of Queensland safe.
